U Kyi Min
Kyi Min has over 10 years of education experience in the U.S.A. He taught middle school and high school at Houston Independent School District (HISD) for over five years and at Houston Community College System (HCCS) for over eight years. Throughout his educational career, he has built strong relationships by communicating and collaborating with parents/guardians, peers and school administrators. U Kyi Min has also established and achieved bold and measurable goals. He has planned, developed, and implemented research-based instructional programs focused on student academic growth.
While working at HISD, he taught Gifted and Talented students in the Vanguard Program at Burbank Middle School in Houston, Texas. He has a proven track record of success in teaching his students to pass the Texas State standardized test, known as the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) test. Many of his students excelled and scored high on the HISD standardized test, known as the Stanford test. He was awarded the Outstanding Teacher award from Burbank Middle School.
At Houston Community College System, U Kyi Min taught Pre-Algebra, Intermediate Algebra, and College Algebra courses to freshman and sophomore level students.
U Kyi Min earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and majored in Computer Information System (CIS), from the University of Houston – Downtown and Associates in Applied Science degree from Houston Community College System.
Daw Khin Hnin Nwe
Khin Hnin Nwe is an experienced teacher and school administrator. She has experience in Primary, Middle and Secondary school, and Universities and Institutes across the State and Independent education sectors in Yangon, Myanmar. Prior to taking up a position at CISM she held the position of Part-Time Tutor at the English Department at Yangon University and Institute of Education in Yangon.
Khin Hnin Nwe`s first degree was a B.A in English from Yangon University, Myanmar, with a focus on the areas of Language, Literature and Social Studies. She has completed an M.A in TEFL at Institute of Education in Yangon, Myanmar, focused on Teaching English as a Second Language; as well as a CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) from RMIT University in Melbourne Australia, specializing in the field of skills, knowledge and hands-on teaching practices. She also attended the South East Asia Leadership Programme at Northern Illinois University, USA.
She has held a variety of leadership positions in school and her community, including responsibilities for curriculum coordination, professional learning and staff welfare. She has a particular interest in curriculum development, professional learning, critical thinking skills and organizational development. She has presented workshops on these topics in a variety of ELT Seminars and ELTeCS Burma annual ELT Conferences organized by British Council Burma.
Holding a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from University of Yangon, Arkar Soe worked as a Registrar at Teaching Centre and Customer Service in British Council Burma for 16 years and has a wide range of knowledge and experiences in UK Examinations Boards, including Person Edexcel, Cambridge Assessment English and Cambridge Assessment International Education. His communication skills and personality enable him to build good relationship internally among teachers and students as well as externally with Exam Candidates and their families to delivery utmost services.
Mie Mie Tun
Head of Early Childhood
Mi Mi Tun has earned her B.Sc. degree in Zoology from Yangon University, and completed Cambridge Teaching Qualification – TKT ( Teaching Knowledge Test ) offered from British Council Burma.She has been working for CISM more than 15 years. Since then, she shares the role of Primary teacher and loves working in Early Years. Currently she is teaching Science for Primary and has involved innovative and responsive programme development and coordination in Early Childhood Education at CISM. She is always proud to be a part of CISM and appreciates every opportunity for professional development. She always takes part in the Cambridge professional development trainings, ELT workshops and Conferences.
Aung Si Thu
Head of Maths & IGCSE Elective
Aung Si Thu teaches IGCSE Mathematics and Additional Mathematics courses. He received his B.E. degree in marine engineer- ing from Myanmar Maritime University in Yangon. After graduating, he started his career in teaching as a private Mathematics teacher for students from Maritime University and matriculation students. He joined CISM in 2014 as a secondary Mathematics teacher. He attends Cambridge professional development training every year to maintain Cambridge standards and to meet the requirements.
Head of Humanities
Don has been teaching in Myanmar since 2013, and is consistently impressed by the intelligent and hardworking attitude of Myanmar students! He began teaching History and Geography in 2015, and teaches grades 6 to 8 (Lower Secondary). He has a strong personal interest in World History. His interest in Geography began at home, and he appreciates travelling to gain a better understanding of the world around us. He also loves reading, and has been teaching Literature toGrades 6 to 10, incorporating a wide variety of international poems, stories and dramas into his classes. His undergraduate is in Theology, he has a TEFL certif- icate and a CIE Professional Training in English (Ho Chi Minh) certificate and he is currently undergoing a PGCEi degree with the University of Nottingham and a Global Perspectives online training course. Don believes in equitable education and loves class- rooms to be bright, engaging and contemporary. Don enjoys gardening and music in his spare time.
Head of Science
Anais received a Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice, from the Florida International University. She moved to Thailand, where she received a TESOL Certification from XploreAsia, and gained experience from working for a traveling English Camp. She taught all core subjects to grades 2 and 3 and quickly took a leadership role. She acted as a liaison between the English Program Director and the foreign teachers, and she became an essential resource for any new foreign teachers. She began working for CISM in 2017 as a Science teacher and has enjoyed becoming part of the faculty. She has experience with the Cambridge curricu- lum and has also attended Cambridge Professional Development training in Vietnam. Anais strives to keep her classes interesting and engaging, while enforcing creative thinking, honesty and respect.

Having obtained B.Sc., Chemistry from Yangon University, Diploma in English from The Institute of Foreign Languages in Yangon and B.Ed from Yangon Institute of Education, U Kyaw Tun has over 40 years of exemplary teaching experiences at the Middle and High School levels. In 1996, U Kyaw Tun was awarded as The Outstanding Coach for Badminton and Basketball Team of Irrawaddy Division. His Division School received several awards and grants from the Myanmar Government Athletic Association based on the school’s activities, fitness, and P.E programmes. U Kyaw Tun was promoted as Deputy Head of Bokalay Basic Education High School in Irrawaddy Division and Hlaing Tharyar High School in Yangon. Currently, he serves as Department Chair at CISM, coaching Physical Education Programme for Primary and Secondary, and organizing CISM sports events, tournaments and friendly matches with other international schools in Yangon.
